Work History

Expediting and Logistics Coordinator

Bumi Armada Group (Armada Olombendo FPSO) for client Azule Energy
02.2017 - Current
  • Implemented consolidating shipments via monthly sea freight (FCL) for cargoes from suppliers in Malaysia and Singapore. This covers about 85% of the company's importations to Angola that had previously been shipped separately. This new approach allowed the company to significantly reduce logistics costs, increase supply chain efficiency, improve inventory management, and increase operational flexibility in anticipating materials delivery to the FPSO.
  • An integral part of preparing the scope of work (SOW) and technical bid evaluation (TBE) of the proposals for the signing of a 3PL contract with a single freight forwarder responsible for the worldwide collection, storage, consolidation, and dispatch of cargoes destined for the Armada Olombendo FPSO project. Also, I actively participated in drawing up the scope of work and performed the technical bid evaluations (TBE) to award land transportation contracts for cargoes moved from Luanda/Soyo/Luanda.
  • Implemented the supplier performance evaluation system, in which the top 10 worst suppliers were selected using key performance indicators such as delivery delay time, number of incomplete deliveries, deliveries made within the stipulated deadlines, and deliveries made on time. Suppliers classified as having a low score were warned with protest letters, and they were subject to being excluded from the RFQ process or having their payments discounted if no improvements were seen. With this measure, we have seen a substantial improvement in suppliers' service.
  • Set up weekly follow-up meetings with the freight forwarders, where I received up-to-date information on the progress of the import processes for those shipments considered critical by the offshore operations team. This approach drastically reduced the time taken for customs clearance and cargo delivery to our warehouse.
  • Resolving problems with government departments, ensuring compliance with import rules in Angola.
  • Verify and approve billing documents, including Goods Receipt Note (GRN), in SAP to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Prepare and submit an RFQ to obtain estimated prices for selecting the appointed freight forwarder responsible for handling critical shipments purchased under Ex-works incoterm. This process includes comparing prices, transit times, and contractual conditions – Commercial Bid Evaluation (CBE) and its submission for management approval before formal engagement with the freight forwarder.

Logistics Supervisor

Conoco Phillips (Angola) blocks 36 and 37
11.2013 - 06.2016
  • In this role, it's important to highlight that we operated with one (1) drillship (Ocean Rig Athena) and four (4) supply vessels for Conoco's exploration program. Materials were dispatched from the shore base to offshore and vice versa within the stipulated timeframes, so drilling progressed quickly because the feedback from the shore base was significant. I helped complete the entire drilling program safely and without causing a single hour of rig delay.
  • Led a 22-person team while overseeing the daily activities of the logistics shore base at Sonils Base, including coordinating ship loading and unloading operations.
  • Conducted visual inspections, compiled inventory reports, and generated material receipts (MRR) to track yard activities daily.
  • In partnership with the Shore Base Manager, coordinated the planning and receipt of backloaded materials from the drilling rig, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Facilitated vessel support by coordinating crew changes and delivering supplies to vessels, such as water, drilling fluids, and fuel.
  • Established effective communication channels with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of provisions to supply vessels while maintaining accurate documentation.

Logistics Supervisor

Petrobras International (Angola) blocks 18/06, 06/06, and 26/06
01.2010 - 11.2013
  • Managed Petrobras logistics base at Sonils, overseeing a diverse team of 16 assistants specialized in forklift and crane operations, stevedoring, laboring, driving, and security guards.
  • Supervised stevedoring operations and conducted inventory of delivered oil equipment in the yard.
  • Coordinated ship loading and unloading operations, ensuring efficient crew change requirements, provisioning, and fuel supply.
  • Managed service contracts for Petrobras' projects in Blocks 18/06, 6/06, and 26 with Sonils-based service companies.
