My Briggs history.
Line 59, Line 58 (Quantums) from 1993 to 2004 from an operator through tech A and then Supervisor
during that time I was the first to install shadow boards and delete tool boxes implementing tool libraries and crash carts, the first to paint a section of the lines white and fully implement 5S.
I went to PBW line 62 and ran it along with trim line 58 for many months until that position was filled, I helped get line 62 from a 1800 build rate on DOV to 2500 until we lost that engine to China and brought in the Intek from Rolla, Launched the W14 which I was a part of all the sample builds and development of the production for that and the w28 as well, brought Quantums over to run on line 62 with electric starts, With the addition of Micah Hanks we worked over every machine, traffic control, line balances, paint systems and worked on throughput improvements while adapting to product changes, part shortages, technical issues, engineering issues and training.
2013 I worked to bring line 58 over to second shift PBW and had to train a crew that had never worked on overhead valves and we made that happen while the remodel went on. After that I worked with line 56 and brought them to PBW on third shift as most of those folks had never been on second shift and only worked line 56 since 1989, we trained and ran all the OHV and quantum engines that we had at PBW.
After the remodel I volunteered to work the second shift to start line 59, then 2 weeks later 57 and shortly after the supervisor on 57 promptly quit and I ran both lines for about 4 months with all the challenges that go with brand new assembly lines and the new W22 engine that was launching, at that point I trained a new Supervisor for line 59, then I was awarded the position as quality tech in QA and awaited several months and trained my replacement at that point.
QA has been a great learning experience from the start learning to build relationships with our customers and working with all departments in the plant, looking for improvements for quality and giving suggestions on throughput improvements when I see it to any department. I achieved my Master Service Technician training in 2015 to better help understand our customers applications for troubleshooting.
I have worked on any project that Jim Philippi hAs given me from 4DX lead on plant utilities to line balances and throughput improvements in assembly, Allmand, BSPP, Statesboro, and Newburn Tn. as well as BIQ implementation and Rapid Response.
Have worked on rework teams for other plants on large engines in New York and have done PR with Toro in Juarez.
I have always worked to keep employees engaged and communicated and had good Power Teams when I was in assembly, (I had the first team that was combined with second shift).
I have worked to make visual management throughout the shop and worked on groove screens, hour by hour screens, various production screens and collected key measure data to keep them updated.
